Paris is a very expensive place to eat and drink prices can go as high as 8 euros for a coffee on the Champs-Elysees with meals costing easily a 160 Euros, of course the food would be fantastic.

If you shop round you can find small high quality restaurants were you can have a five course meal for around 30 euros. If you are on a limited budget then stick to the fixed price menus, main restaurant and cafes in Paris offer this service.

As in many European countries Parisians eat a late lunch at around 1300, with restaurant opening around 1900 for diner, with the most popular time for dinner in Paris is from  around 2000 to 2200 hours.

Restaurants in France by law have to include a service charge so you do not have to leave a tip, however if you feel you have received an excellent level of service than by all means leave a tip.
